Expressing his pleasure in welcoming Ambassador Ito Naoki to the province, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Duy Dong emphasized that Japan is Vietnam's top economic partner, ranking first in providing ODA aid. Regarding Vinh Phuc Province, the cooperation between the province and Japanese localities, partners, organizations, and enterprises has developed robustly, extensively, and effectively in recent years. Japan has become the most reliable and significant partner in many areas for the province. Currently, Japan ranks second in Vinh Phuc in terms of both the number of investment projects and registered capital, with 75 projects totaling over $1.9 billion. Most investment projects have been successful, continuously expanding production scales and making significant contributions to socio-economic development and job creation, including notable projects by Honda, Toyota, Sumitomo, and Sojitz. In terms of friendly cooperation, Vinh Phuc has prioritized enhancing its friendly ties, people-to-people exchanges, and cultural interactions with Japan. To date, the province has established cooperative relationships with two Japanese localities, namely Akita Prefecture and Tochigi Prefecture.

With the motto, "All investors in Vinh Phuc are its citizens; the success of investors is also the success of Vinh Phuc," Chairman Tran Duy Dong affirmed that the province is committed to addressing policy and procedural challenges, creating favorable conditions for all investors, particularly Japanese ones, to explore and implement investment projects. He urged Ambassador Ito Naoki to continue supporting Vinh Phuc in training high-quality workers, attracting and efficiently utilizing ODA funds, fostering cooperative and friendly relations, and promoting local partnerships. He also sought support to attract significant Japanese investors in electricity, electronics, high-tech, and new energy projects. To align with global trends, Chairman Tran Duy Dong requested the Ambassador propose to Toyota and Honda leaderships to accelerate the transition from gasoline-powered vehicles to hybrid vehicle assembly in Vietnam.

Thanking Vinh Phuc’s leaders for their warm reception, Ambassador Ito Naoki affirmed that Vinh Phuc possesses many strengths in attracting investment and is one of the most appealing investment destinations for Japanese enterprises. He expressed hope that the province would continue to support businesses, particularly Japanese firms, through mechanisms and policies. Priorities include administrative reforms, ensuring stable power supply for production, supporting solar energy enterprises, and implementing measures to prevent and mitigate environmental impacts while addressing flood risks. In his capacity, the Ambassador pledged to further promote Vinh Phuc’s image among Japanese investors.
