On the morning of October 11, Comrade Duong Van An, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, met and worked with Comrade Orlando Nicolas Hernandez Guillen, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to Vietnam, to discuss future cooperation between Vinh Phuc province and Cuba. This meeting is an important step toward concretizing the friendship and cooperation between Vinh Phuc province and Mayabeque province, Cuba, following the recent State visit by General Secretary and President To Lam to the Republic of Cuba. The meeting was also attended by Comrade Bui Huy Vinh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and leaders of several departments and sectors.
Expressing his profound impressions of Cuba's land and people, as well as the deep bond between the two Parties and peoples experienced during his participation in General Secretary and President To Lam's recent State visit to Cuba, Provincial Party Secretary Duong Van An shared his empathy for the challenges Cuba currently faces due to blockades and embargoes that have impacted its development. He expressed confidence that the Cuban Communist Party’s policies will help the country overcome these difficulties and challenges to achieve stronger development in the near future.
With the cooperative agreements signed with Mayabeque province in Cuba, Vinh Phuc province is confident in implementing specific activities to strengthen the friendship and promote mutual development between the two provinces. Provincial Party Secretary Duong Van An introduced Ambassador Hernandez Guillen to the economic and social development of Vinh Phuc, highlighting the province's strengths and expressing hope that the Ambassador would continue to serve as a bridge to foster and enhance cooperative activities between Vinh Phuc and Mayabeque, Cuba.
During his first visit to Vinh Phuc, the Cuban Ambassador expressed his excitement at the province's progress and appreciation for the enduring solidarity and deep bond between the two Parties and peoples over the past six decades. He shared that Cuba has significant strengths in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and healthcare, and is ready to collaborate with Vietnam and Vinh Phuc in these fields.
Providing more information about Mayabeque province, the Ambassador noted its potential for development, with strengths in agriculture and export industries. He mentioned that Cuba has granted more autonomy to localities, including Mayabeque, creating favorable opportunities for the two provinces to concretize cooperative activities.
The Ambassador reaffirmed his commitment to acting as a bridge to further promote collaboration between Vietnam and Cuba, including strengthening ties between Vinh Phuc and Mayabeque.
