Investment promotion in Australia

After the working trip to New Zealand, on 2018/6/21, the delegation of Vinh Phuc led by Mr. Tran Van Vinh - Deputy Standing Secretary, Chairman of People's Council, continued the investment promotion in Australia.

In the morning of 2018/6/21, supported by Vietnamese Embassy in Australia and Vietnamese Overseas Businessmen's Association (VBAA), they visited the farm of clean tomatoes, vegetables under the technology of the Netherlands far away about 40 km from Melbourne. Mr. Tran Ba ​​Phuc, Member of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee and Chairman of VBAA , also attended the event.

This is the farm owned by businessman Thai Phong Nha, formerly Vice Chairman of Prime Group (Vinh Phuc) invested in Melbourn. The farm covers a total area of ​​05 hectares, with an output of about 65kg / m2 / year, with an annual turnover of about 3 million Australia dollars. The farm is currently applying high technology planting and processing in the Netherlands.

Mr. Tran Van Vinh highly appreciated the model of farm development using Dutch farming technology, bringing the efficiency of investment, production of products. quality products for the city of Melbourne; and hoped that after the success of the investment in Australia, VBAA will study and invest in the model in Vinh Phuc and support the province in exporting agricultural products of the province to Australia in general and Melbourne in particular.

In the afternoon of the same day, the delegation visited and worked VBAA (in Melbourne). Mr. Tran Ba ​​Phuc and members of the Association received and worked with the mission.

VBAA was established in mid-2010. After its founding, the Association has made good progress since its inception: as a bridge between overseas Vietnamese businessmen, businesses in Australia with partners in Vietnam. Many Overseas Vietnamese businessmen before returning to Vietnam have come VBAA to be consulted on current regulations and policies of the State of Vietnam.

At the meeting, Mr. Tran Ba ​​Phuc informed the delegation of the province about the activities VBAA in Australia, in which thet received many delegations and domestic enterprises exploring the Australian market, as a bridge for many businesses to export goods into this market. At the same time, the Association has made many efforts to coordinate with other ministries and sectors to import agricultural products from Vietnam into Australia, especially the export of fruits to Australia. At this point, the Vietnamese authorities will also announce three more fruits to be imported into Australia, including dragon fruit, longan.

Mr. Tran Ba ​​Phuc also expressed the desire of VBAA of soon putting the dragon red flesh of Vinh Phuc to be imported and sold in the Australian market in the future, and hoped that with the efforts of leaders of Vinh Phuc and VBAA, there will have many agricultural products having advantages of the province that will be licensed to export to Australia.

On behalf of the delegation, Mr. Tran Van Vinh informed VBAA about the socio-economic development of the province in recent years and the efforts of Vinh Phuc province in improving administrative measures, improving the business environment, enhancing the competitiveness. The head of the delegation hoped that in the coming time, there would be many overseas compatriots returning home investing in the fields that are prior by Vinh Phuc province, especially high-tech agriculture, education training, services, health.

On 2018/6/22, the delegation of the provincial investment promotion has visited and worked with the Board of Directors of RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia. Mr. Andrew Maclntyre. Vice Principal, in charge of the development of global education and other members in charge of the areas of training, development cooperation has met and worked with the delegation.

Mr. Andrew Maclntyre briefed on the situation, development of the University and expressed the desire ready to cooperate Vinh Phuc to improve the quality of training of human resources, improve language skills British officials and the province's English teachers. The school can send experts to survey the province and provide suitable training programs to the needs of the province in the coming time.

On behalf of the delegation, Mr. Tran Van Vinh would like to thank Mr. Andrew Maclntyre and the school's leaders for welcoming and providing the delegates useful information on some of educational programs that could be applied in Vinh Phuc as well as in Vietnam; the province would sủvey and send students to RMIT. He also hoped that the University would soon send experts to survey the training and labor development quality in order to have suitable programs for Vinh Phuc.

On 23/6, the delegates worked with the Embassy of Vietnam in Australia and were received by Ambassador Ngo Huong Nam, trade Counsellor and Embassy staff.

At the working session, Ambassador Ngo Huong Nam expressed his pleasure of welcoming the delegates; highly appreciated the province's efforts on investment promotion in Anstralian market. He briefed that Viet Nam and Australia had signed a joint statement on establishing a strategic partnership at the meeting on 2018/3/15 between Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull. In 2018, the two countries will have many activities on the 45th anniversary of diplomacy.

On behalf of the delegation, Mr. Tran Van Vinh would like to thank the Vietnamese Embassy in Canberra, Australia for supporting the province to connect and organize investment promotion activities in Australia in 2014 and in June of this year. Mr. Tran Van Vinh informed the Ambassador and the members of the Embassy about the socio-economic development of the province in recent years, the efforts of Vinh Phuc province in reforming administrative procedures to improve the investment environment, to enhance the provincial competitiveness level to attract resources, in which the attraction from Australia in the fields of education and training, hi-tech agriculture services, etc. Vinh Phuc province is directing relatedagencies to export dragon fruit to Australia soon. Mr. Tran Van Vinh hoped that the Embassy would be the bridge to assist Vinh Phuc province in introducing investment environment and mobilizing Australian investors to study and invest in Vinh Phuc as well, assist the province to export agricultural products to Australia; support scholarships for Vinh Phuc's officials and teachers on State management, English in Australia.

On June 24, the provincial delegation visited and worked with the Consulate General of Vietnam in Sydney. Receiving the delegation, there were Mr. Trinh Duc Hai - Consul General, and staffs of the Consulate General.

Mr. Tran Van Vinh briefed the provincial delegation on working with the Embassy of Vietnam in Canberra, Australia. Overview of the socio-economic development and business investment environment in Vinh Phuc province, and thanked the General Consulate of Vietnam in Australia for supporting organizations and people of Vinh Phuc who are working, studying, researching, and trading. He hoped that  the Consulate General of Vietnam in Sydney would be the bridge to introduce Australian investors to Vinh Phuc to study and explore investment opportunities and to combine training and development of quality human resources; looking for export markets of some agricultural products of Vinh Phuc, including the red dragon fruit of the province. The Consul General expressed his willingness to support Vinh Phuc to mobilize investment, link training in human resources and find export markets as proposed by the province and wished to go to Vinh Phuc to learn about the technology of planting red dragon fruit, strengths and potentials to attract investment in the province in the future.

The visit there ended the investment promotion activities under the program in New Zealand and Australia. On 2018/6/25, the delegation returned Vinh Phuc, successfully completed the investment promotion trip  in 2018 to New Zealand and Australia.
